About Our Guest

Matt Ticzkus
Matt earned a masters degree in Christian school education and another masters degree in Bible exposition, and he served for a number of years as a school administrator in Texas. Matt is currently the regional director for the mid-south region of the American Association of Christian Schools where he is having a great impact with those schools and for Christian education. Matt stays busy outside that work as well. But by far his most important responsibility is his family. He and his wife have 3 children. He also founded and leads a small e-commerce company – and actively serves on city council where he lives.
Loved the distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation shared, the push toward discipleship of students to build intrinsic motivation. I’m in Leadership at my school and one push we’ve really made this year is in using Biblical Worldview Shaping to set a purpose for learning at the beginning of every new unit or lesson taught. I also found the list of inexpensive, non-candy extrinsic rewards very helpful and practical for teachers! I enjoy your Teacher Edition Podcast and often share episodes on our school’s online Staff Chat. Thanks, and God bless you, for all you do!
